Summer of 69 starts

10:25 - 10:54

Begin by hitting the D chord or D5 (shown in fretboard graph to the right).  Try to avoid hitting the low E string.  I have the 5th string A showing an x on the fretboard but it doesn't sound bad if you accidentally hit it so I wouldn't get overly concerned with that.  Just try to avoid the low E.

After you play the chord on beat 1, play your open D string twice then your chord again on the "&" of beat 2.  If you can you may want to slightly palm mute the D string when playing it by itself.  No worries if you can't, it will still sound great!

10:55 - 11:26

Next we will play that open D string a total of 12 times.  4 to complete measure 1 and then 8 times in measure 2.

11:27 - 11:37

Now we move to our open A chord but essentially play the same thing however the open A string is played instead of D.

11:38 - 11:55

Now we put it together for this 4 measure verse pattern.

11:56 - 12:37

Pre-Chorus is comprised of 4 chords: Bm, A, D and G.  Held for 4 beats each.  The strum pattern below could also be used.

12:38 - 14:48

Cool arpeggiated riff that is played underneath the first chord progression we learned.

14:49 - 15:26

This is similar to part above but uses Asus2, A and Asus4

15:30 - 15:45

Bridge using F, Bb and C chords
