In this video you will learn a couple different ways to play this fun Jason Mraz song! This is a fun Jason Mraz song and I will show you a couple different ways you can play it.
First up is learning about one of the most popular chord progressions in music. It is called the:
I V vi IV
- I V vi IV
- Sixteenth note triplet feel
- Using a capo
Key of G Major
Next up, is we need to know that chords are built from scales. So if we build a G major scale we get:
G A B C D E F# G
And the chords would be:
G Am Bm C D Em F#dim and these would be named:
I ii iii IV V vi viidim
The Chord Progression:
I V vi IV
G D Em C

G

D

Em

C

Key of B Major
The song was recorded in the key of B so if we build a B major scale, we get:
B C# D# E F# G# A# B
And the chords would be:
B C#m D#m E F#m G#dim and these would be named:
I ii iii IV V vi viidim
The Chord Progression:
I V vi IV
B F# G#m E
Cover
I went with the bar chords in the original key (Key of B Major) for the cover. For myself I find it easier to mute and control the notes of the chord when they are bar chords. I can be using both hands to mute strings when needed.
