Arpeggio Lesson 25

A Look at Diminished, Augmented and Minor7b5 Arpeggios

Below is a link to the Jazz Blues Lesson that uses F#dim7.  It has a jam track to practice going from 5th position F7 to F#dim7.

Jazz Blues

One of the coolest things about diminshed 7th chords is that they are made of entirely minor 3rd intervals.  This means that there are only 3 actual different diminished 7th chords.  Each has 4 names.  For example:

Adim7 =  A  C  Eb  Gb(F#)

Cdim7 =  C  Eb  Gb  A(Bbb)

Ebdim7 = Eb  Gb  Bbb(A) Dbb(C)

F#dim7  =  F#  A  C  Eb
