Scale Lesson 20
C Major Scale in 9th Position
C Major Scale is built the same way we have built every other major scale. Start on an C and use the formula:

We get:
C D E F G A B C
Therefore the key of C major doesn't have any sharps or flats.
C Major Pentatonic
Build by removing the 4th and 7th degree of the any major scale to make it pentatonic. In the case of the C major scale, we would remove the F and B. We are left with C major pentatonic:

This scale was found in Lesson 17 on the old site. It will be moved to the new Lesson 20. That lesson also covered a scale pattern and a 3 note/string C major scale.
