Bonus Arpeggio Lesson

This Triplet Em7 Arpeggio is from Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson

This could also be written in 4/4 and these would all be eight note triplets.

This notation file matches the fretboard however we are going to want to play this one octave higher.

The 8va means to play it one octave higher then written.  On the fretboard take the same notes from the above fretboard and move them one octave higher and start on the 14th fret B instead of the 2nd fret B.

Alternate Picking - with this pick option we would alternate pick and start with an Up stroke.

Natural Picking (also known as Economy Picking) -  you would have a few options here however this is the way I like to pick it.

Another Way to Write It - in this example it is being written in the proper octave with only the last part using the 8va to make it easier to read.  Otherwise those last few notes would be very high on the staff and are generally considered harder to read.
