Beat 1 of this great riff starting with a D power chord and then C (3rd fret of your 5th string) hammering on to D (5th fret of your 5th string).

We add two clicks on beat 2 and the 'e' of beat 2.

Next we down pick F on the 3rd fret of your 4th string and then hammer on the F# on the 4th fret of that same string.

Now let's come back to that D on the 5th fret of your 5th string for the down beat of 3.

After playing that fretted D we will play the D power chord on the '&' of beat 3.
Note: there is no need to have the D5 above in this case because the last chord played in the measure was a D5 (the only chord we have played thus far 🙂

On beat 4 we will play an E power chord by barring the 2nd fret then hammer on an F power chord on the 3rd fret and then back to the E power chord. We pick both E power chords with down strokes.
