E Major and C# Minor
So in lesson 11 we learned an A major scale had 3 sharps (F#, C#, G#). In this lesson we will learn that an E major scale has 4 sharps (F#, C#, G#, D#). We used the major scale formula:

We also learned that A majors relative minor was F#
E majors relative minor is C#
So both the key of E major and the key of C# minor have 4 sharps and those are:
F#, C#, G# and D#

The 1st fretboard is showing a 2 octave E major scale.
The 2nd fretboard could be a 2 octaves C# minor scale if you start on the C#
The 3rd fretboard shows both an E major pentatonic scale and C# minor pentatonic
We make a major pentatonic scale by removing the 4th and 7th degree of the scale. An E major scale would be:
E F# G# A B C# D#
E Major
C# Minor
