Playing and Singing
Part 1: Getting Started
Part 2: What and how to practice to create momentum
Part 3: The secret to progressing quickly
Once you have decided on a song to play and sing you will want to sing along with the original recording and then learn the guitar parts without singing.
At that point you can start breaking down the melody and guitar part together.
I quite often like to learn the melody on guitar and sing each line while playing the melody on guitar. Then I sing the line again with the actual guitar part.
And if you play piano, that is another great way to learn to sing the melody while playing it in your right hand and then just hold the chords in the left.
