tripfuse - These Voices of Mine - Lesson 2

Verse - Slash Chords

Bm

G

D/F#
A

There is no breakdown for the verse but the strum pattern is the same as the chorus , so practice the same way breaking down each switch.

If you have trouble with the Bm bar chord, you can play it without barring and muting the high E string. You can mute the high E by letting your 2nd finger slightly touch it or bar it but don't worry about applying pressure.
Bm

D/F# - Slash Chords
A slash chord has a note in the bass other than the root of the chord. (Root of C chord is C, root of G chord is G, etc.) Block your high E string. Let your 3rd finger gently touch it to stop it from ringing. You can block your 5th A string or let it ring (whichever you prefer). A is a chord tone.

Finger 1 = F# (3rd of a D major chord and scale)
Finger 2 = A (5th of D major chord and scale)
Finger 3 = D (Root of D major chord and scale)

Soloing - The chords in the above progression all belong to the key of Bm (D majors relative minor).
