tripfuse is primarily a writing project I started in 2002 and released a full length record in 2004. A 6 piece live band was put together to perform. Throughout the years the band part of tripfuse has been everything from a 6 piece to a trio. Currently it consists of:
Teague Purtell, Reggie Hache, Issah Contractor
I have written music since I started to play guitar. Even when I only knew 3 chords I was writing songs with those 3 chords 🙂

2024 has marked the beginning of the social media experiment and writing and sharing as I go. I started a challenge to myself at the beginning of the year to write and post something daily to TikTok for 60 days. Well I ended up on a roll and did it for 6 months. Then took a bit of a break (not from writing but from posting daily - I do find it quite time consuming). I have been back at it and you can follow along on your favorite social media platform.
The next step is I am going to start teaching everything I am writing.
There is no real end plan here. I am just writing because I love to write and sharing because I have always felt a need to give back. Teach what I learn.

I have been writing a lot and been sharing the ideas in this password protected section of musiclearning.com (my guitar instructional website that was started in 1999).

I am considering starting a Patreon page in order to fund a new album or even just one single at a time.

B Minor Jam TrackThis jam track is in the key of B minor and is taken from a new tripfuse song I am working on. The initial idea actually came about years ago and I'm just now working on it becoming a complete song. Stay tuned to hear it with some vocal ideas I've been working on 🙂

tripfuse Rise Up EP
The Rise Up Ep was recorded with Issah on drums and Reggie laying down all the bass parts. This was recorded at Omega Media Recording Studios with producer Jason Martin. We ended up using drop C tuning in all the sounds. I think. I will have to confirm. I should know, but I forget.

The Rise Up Ep was a lot of fun to record. It was done in Richmond BC with Jason Martin producing it and Issah Contractor on drums and Reggie Hache on bass. We had just started rehearsing for live shows when I got the Roxy gig and tripfuse was put on a long hold.

It is hard for me to believe but it has been 20 years since this was released. I was 32 years old and was playing in Bill Pettijohn's legendary Doors Tribute band called Moonlight Drive, teaching and writing and recording what would become this 13 track record.
This is where it all started. These 13 tracks were recorded by myself over the course of a year and a bit. This is what then set the motion for the first live version of tripfuse with 6 members. Which later became 5, then 4 then the trio it is now. lol
