Past Live Streams

As of August 2025 - Admin Only

Important:   Streams can be public but switched to private immediately after.  Then short video should be made within days.  Material should be made for stream before hand.

Or I make the material first and then the video to go along and then do a live stream which is public and marked private after.

I need to explore these two options:   Recording the video first would mean the stream is meant to provide extra help for the video.

The Live Stream is a process I am still really trying to figure out, just as far as how to present them, how to index them and how to organize the material to go with them.

Each stream generally has a lot of information and some streams run smooth with the material being presented in a clear and logical way, others, not so much.  lol

They can be a lot of fun when people get in with guitars in hand and we all work on the material together.  So check the homepage for the next scheduled one and if you are able to, tune your guitar and join me!

Good breakdown notation live stream video.  Would be nice to have a short concise video for this page.  Also makes for a great Classic Rock Riff.  Works well for rhythm/strumming series too.

This is a youtube stream  only.  There isn't even a page created yet.  Needs new video and material to go with it.  Would be a great addition to: Classic Rock Riff

Everything below is here mostly for myself to sort out my thoughts on the Live Streams.

Summer Song Solo Live Stream - Important - notice this link is not pointing to /members/live-streams.  This is the only page in the free section live-streams.  Need to figure out what makes the most sense here:  Any point having live-streams section in free?

I found this on page on June 18, 2020.

Not sure what exactly I have going on here.

April 29th - Strumming in 6/8

April 26th - Wish You Were Here

April 22nd - Diatonic triads/chords and Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive intro (All Levels)

April 20th - Basic Music Theory (All Levels)

April 15th - A7 chord and inversions of it on strings 1 2 3 4 (Intermediate/Advanced)

April 14th - Technique (All levels)

April 13th - Fingerpicking (Beginner Lesson)

April 9th - Pull offs and fun one string exercise

April 15th - Live Stream Guitar Lesson on Chords

This lesson talked about quite a bit of material and would have something for every level:

  • Diatonic triads in the key of C on strings 3, 4 and 5
  • C major, C major 7 and C7
  • Root position C triad on strings 1, 2 and 3
  • 2nd Inversion triads of the diatonic chords in key of C on strings 1,2 and 3
  • Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive intro

Oct. 10, 2018

A challenge with the live streams is figuring out whether they need pages of every stream or whether the streams go on the lesson pages.

Con for stream on lesson page - too long and doesn't get to the material quick enough

Possible Solution - Plan streams so the content is presented quickly and clearly at the start of the stream.

Example - Did a stream May 22nd, 2019 on using the A minor arpeggio in 5th form and the D minor arpeggio in 10th form to play over the 2 Chord Improvising Lesson (Am to Dm).

C7 to F7 Jam - Playing Over Dominant 7th Chords - Live Stream from July 29, 2017 - found in improvising section under two chord jams C7 to F7

An idea for future streams:  Send the people that register to lead magnets.  They are pages that are not found through free section of site and already have sales pitch and button to signup page!

This particular live stream was very quiet so it is mostly just me playing.  It is really only on this page so that I don't forget about it because there are some improvised parts in the middle and towards the end that I would like to turn into tripfuse ideas 🙂

Starts at 6:12

Something to think about in regards to the live stream lessons.  How will they be indexed?  Is there any point even having a live stream section?  Or should each past live stream go into a category (arpeggios, scales, songs, etc.).

I guess the problem in some cases is that a lot of material was covered in one stream.  Making it fairly hard to put in one category.

Unless the same stream video is on many pages and then references to what time in the video I cover that particular topic (D moveable arpeggio, etc.)

For Summer Song Solo Excerpt Lesson (currently named Rock Soloing) live stream, I have a link that points to:
