I'm going to make a simple acoustic video showing 3 positions to play A B C D E F on the fretboard.Let's Get Started
The 6 Notes We Will Play Today
So for this series of exercises we are going to use just 6 notes and we are going to use the first 6 alphabet letters for those who are not comfortable with reading music just yet.

So the important thing to note about all of different places we can play these 6 notes, they sound the same as far as pitch is concerned. There will be a slight difference in sound as far as tone is concerned. This will be caused by playing the same notes but on different strings. Even though it is the same pitch, we would say it has a slightly different tone or timbre (pronounced tamber).
A good example of this would be someone singing the same note as a guitar. Even though they are sounding the same pitch (assuming the singer is singing in tune), we can tell the difference between the guitar and the voice. That is tone or timbre.
Let's Look at 4 Positions We Could Play These Same 6 Notes
There would be many others but let's start here.

Eighth Notes

Eighth Note Triplets

Alternate Picking

Natural Picking

These two forms to the right would need different notation files as the natural picking would be different then above.

Things to Add to Lesson
Here So I Don't Forget
Still trying to decide the importance of a nav bar on these individual lesson pages.
And if I were to, where would they go? Top is most logical place but then interferes with lesson itself. Unless the video isn't the top part of the page.
Things to Add to Page
- MP3's of examples
- MP3's of examples with jam track
- Link to jam track page
- Up and back down the 6 notes
- Playing the same pattern but starting on different notes
4 Notes Played in a Pattern of 6
A Look at Alternate vs Natural Picking
This will be another 6 note pattern but this time just using 4 notes going up and back down.
I will make notation files for ascending and descending. So starting on the G and starting on the B.
Also as sixteenth notes and eighth note triplets.
I will also add mp3 examples to play along with as well as a listening example to hear it with a jam track. Then a link to the jam track page where you can try it for yourself.
