Ex. 1 Play exercise 1 with your 12th position E blues scale. The give away here is that there is a high G which could only be played on the 15th fret of the high E string. Listen Please note that the fretboard shown is an E minor/G major pentatonic scale. You need to add Bb for it to be a blues scale. 12th Position Ex. 2 The phrasing doesn't leave many places to play this exercise other than on our high E string.
