Add to Improv Page (Using m7b5 chords over dominant chords)

Bm7b5 along with G7 on strings 1 2 3 4 have been added to Chord Lesson 20

Triad Inversions

Major strings 1 2 3 - considering Chord Lesson 6 - D major
Minor strings 1 2 3 - considering Chord Lesson 7 - D minor
Major strings 2 3 4 - G is in Chord Lesson 9 , considering F in Chord Lesson 10
Minor strings 2 3 4 - Gm inversions are also in Chord Lesson 9

I might prefer to teach strings 2 3 4 first just so I could start with root instead of inversions.  In the old lessons this was taught in Lesson 11

I should do 3 4 5 and 4 5 6 in later lessons (Diatonic Root Position Triads on Strings 3 4 5 are in the guitar/chords folder

It looks like there is also the diatonic triads in the key of C on strings 1 2 3 in the same folder.

Diatonic Triads Strings 1 2 3

What about the different inversions with the Diatonic Triads?

  • Root - Considering Bb
  • 1st Inversion - Considering F or G Major
  • 2nd Inversion  - DONE - D Major Chord Lesson 13

Diatonic Triads Strings 2 3 4

What about the different inversions with the Diatonic Triads?

  • Root - DONE - F Major Chord Lesson 10
  • 1st Inversion - Considering D
  • 2nd Inversion  - Considering A

Considering Bb Root Diatonic Triads on strings 1 2 3

So far I am only teaching Root F on strings 2 3 4 and 2nd Inversion D  on strings 1 2 3

F Diatonic Triads on strings 2 3 4 were in Old Lesson 11
Considering putting the F diatonic triads in Chord Lesson 11 which would also be with the F inversions (mind you these are a review of the G inversions in Chord Lesson 10)
I would like to have the Gm inversions taught before the diatonic triads but not sure that is possible with the lessons and keys the way I have laid out currently.  It would be a fairly major change if I were to make changes to that.  Both scales and arpeggios are done.

Considering D Diatonic Triads on strings 1 2 3 in Chord Lesson 13

Both Diatonic Triads in the Key of C major on Strings 1 2 3 (2nd Inversion) and Strings 345 (Root) have been put on Chord Lesson 14 for now.

I am going to start collecting email on the chord page today (July 1, 2020) and I need to have a plan in place as to where I am sending people:

Use Jam Tracks

For the inversions of triads lessons two good jam tracks to practice them would be:

  • Dm to Am (85 bpm)
  • Bm to E7 (Mr. Nothin)

Actually almost all the jam tracks can work.  Where is Mr. Nothin Jam track?

Another thought might be to organize these by level:

  • Beginner (Lessons 1-8)
  • Intermediate (Lessons 9-16)
  • Advanced (Lessons 17-24)

If I were to do that, I would need to do it for every section, strumming, improv, fingerpicking, etc.

All the C chord forms in 3rd position and all the F chord forms in 1st position:
